Withdrawal Management and Residential Programs FAQ Sheets

MEN

What is our program?

Our Gender Specific (male) Withdrawal Management & Residential Programs are structured programs designed specifically and exclusively for men, providing 24 hour per day, 7 days per week medical supervision of men in early recovery from substance use disorder (addiction). The program offers a variety of groups and clinical interventions to assist in establishing a solid recovery for the persons we serve. The services are Trauma informed (trauma info & therapy incorporated into the services). The program is set in spacious 9,000 square foot facility, with restrooms in each assigned room, typically 2 persons per room.

Do I have to have a clean urine test to be admitted?
No. We provide medically assisted withdrawal management (detox) services to help transition into recovery. You must be 18 years or older, male, and meet the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) eligibility criteria for this level of care.
What do I have to bring if I’m admitted?

The program provides all linens, towels, cooking utensils, cleaning supplies, food, toilet paper, etc., that you will need while staying with us. We recommend you bring the following:

  • Pajamas
  • Comfortable clothes (usually 6-10 days worth of clothes is more than sufficient)
  • Personal hygiene items (toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, etc).
  • Slippers
How long is the program?
Personalized length of stay, but typically not more than 28 days.
What happens after the 28 days?
You will be referred to another level of care either within PNLH’s continuum of care or at another facility to continue your journey of recovery.
Can I have visitors?
Unfortunately, visitors are not allowed during the COVID19 pandemic. (Normally, prior to COVID19, visitation occurs on Sundays during the visiting hours assigned).
Can I smoke at this program?
Yes. While we do not encourage smoking, we do allow smoking, but only outdoors (never in the housing unit as this is cause for termination from the program).
Can I take medications while I’m there?
Yes, of course, as long as they are approved by our medical director.
Can I leave the facility?
No, once admitted to the program, you need to remain within the program structure until discharge. Exceptions to this occur for medically necessary visits to hospital or to mandatory court appointments that cannot be postponed.
How do I proceed to apply for admission?
Simply give us a call at (734) 451 7800 to arrange an intake at our office in Plymouth.
